Katapola

Katapola is the main port of Amorgos and one of the most popular seaside villages of the island, since there is a nice sandy beach, a lot of quality accommodation properties, as well as cafés and tavernas and moorings for fishing boats and sailing boats.

In the same area with Katapola one may see the settlements Rachidi and Xilokeratidi, which due to the proximity to each other for most travelers are considered as the village of Katapola. Rachidi is dominated by the church of Ayios Georgios, while Xilokeratidi is one of the most picturesque corners of the island with its narrow streets and traditional tavernas. Above Katapola are the excavations of the ancient city Minoa.
